DISINGENUOUS IS MADE OF THIS! Singing Along to a Rap Song by a Black Artist gets one in trouble? Its ok to buy the song but cannot sing along to it? How stupid is that? Those offended by racist lyrics should address the concern to the publisher or if the content is not aimed at universal audiences (who may sing along) then it should be released to whoever can sing it, on or off a boat. THIS poses risk to American music publishers as Young White Americans are the largest music customers. SHOULD White Kids not buy Rap Music so they don’t offend anyone, worst ruin their future careers because of singing a song they did NOT write? This shouldn’t be news except for someone excoriating kids who were singing a song they did not write
A brief video of mainly white and male teenagers loudly rapping along to a song peppered with the N-word has stirred anger and discomfort among students and celebrity parents at one of Los Angeles’ most expensive private schools.
In the video, the young people, at least some of whom are students at Brentwood School, rap along with lyrics that boast in explicit terms about having intercourse with, and receiving oral sex from, another person’s girlfriend.
Many are wearing Hawaiian shirts as they preen for the camera, and sing along to “Dump Dump” by A$AP Ferg, mimicking the street-tough posturing in many hardcore rap videos.
