Those turning blue in face at real or perceived Cultural Appropriation are out there appropriating the MALE gender!
Olympics, Careers, Art, Science are gender neutral. BOOKS are NOT❗️They are stories as author intended them, with characters as created by the author, doing whatever they were created to DO.
These sex change versions of High Fidelity, Ghost Busters, Oceans 8 AND JAMES BOND, is some women wanting to be man so bad they don’t care if result is jarring. All of these characters were created with male characteristics: Dialog and speech, Dressing, Reactions and Reflexes. Turning these men into women distorts the story environment which was good enough as is.
NOW are silly men going to want to change Little Women into Little Men, and Charlie’s Angeles are going to be lithe athletic men? Will Julie Andrews role be reprised by a Baritone? And when will Jesus be played by a woman and Joan of Arc by a Man?
Some are foaming out of their mouth at not enough minorities in stories. Why should authors be forced to include characters that do not fit the narrative just as they should not be forced to edit out characters⁉️
Remedy for mental hang ups isn’t social media and funders for projects that don’t make sense (box-office included).
Male character in a book is not misogyny. Though wanting to be like a male character is yelling Mama I wanna be man bad.
